Costa Rica Showcases Its Vision of Resilience and High Technology at SEMICON West 2025
San José, Costa Rica – October 7, 2025. Costa Rica is participating this week in
SEMICON West 2025, the world’s leading semiconductor industry event, to present its vision of resilience, sophistication, and added value within the global high-tech supply chain.
CINDE is representing the country alongside EastWest Manufacturing, positioning Costa Rica as a high-end solutions hub and a reliable, competitive partner for companies looking to strengthen their operations across the Americas and beyond.
The message is clear:
Costa Rica is
“Your High-End Partner in Semiconductor Resilience.” The country arrives at SEMICON with a distinctive value proposition built on a highly skilled talent base and an interconnected industrial ecosystem that fosters collaboration, innovation, and operational continuity. Each year, more than 4,500 engineers graduate in fields such as electronics, mechatronics, microelectronics, chip design, and validation. Through close collaboration between universities, technical institutes, and global companies, Costa Rica ensures a steady pipeline of professionals ready to lead projects in design, testing, validation, prototyping, and applied research (R&D) that meet the highest international standards.
In a global environment where companies demand resilience, traceability, and responsiveness, Costa Rica stands out for offering a unique combination of
specialized talent, flexible infrastructure, and predictable business frameworks. These strengths have enabled the country to build a competitive, mature ecosystem with more than 400 multinational companies in high-tech, software, and advanced manufacturing. This environment fosters cross-sector synergies that strengthen value-chain integration, expand local supplier development, and attract new players in areas such as design, validation, and smart manufacturing.
Within this context,
EastWest Manufacturing provides a tangible example of Costa Rica’s strengths. The company’s arrival in the country, originally under General Microcircuits, marked a strategic expansion to bring manufacturing closer to its primary markets and ensure supply continuity amid global challenges. After more than a decade of operations, EastWest now employs over 150 collaborators, operates more than 4,000 square meters of production space, and holds ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 certifications, serving clients across the United States, Asia, Mexico, Colombia, and Chile. Its trajectory confirms that Costa Rica offers efficiency, traceability, and specialized technical talent—key elements for the semiconductor and advanced manufacturing industries.
“In an era where supply chain resilience defines global competitiveness, Costa Rica reaffirms its commitment to building alliances with companies that value innovation, quality, and adaptability throughout the semiconductor value chain. With that purpose the expert team from CINDE is participating in SEMICON West 2025, strengthening the country’s position as a strategic and trusted partner for global technological growth,” said Marianela Urgellés, Managing Director of CINDE.
