San Jose, Costa Rica. August 12, 2025. Costa Rica is set to reunite the best and brightest of the global life sciences industry with a new edition of the Life Sciences Forum, the pioneering and most influential event of its kind in Latin America.
Organized by
CINDE in partnership with the Health & Tech Prime Partners group, the forum will take place in June 2026, cementing its role as a strategic platform for advancing dialogue on technology, innovation, and business in one of the most dynamic sectors of Costa Rica’s economy.
The Life Sciences Forum is a stage where the country can reaffirm its role as a regional hub for the high-value-added life sciences and medical devices industry," noted Marianela Urgellés Batalla, managing director of CINDE.
“The sector’s development since 1995 has earned Costa Rica the title of being one of the most competitive locations for this industry, one of the leading suppliers to markets such as the United States, and home to 90 multinationals. It is at this level, and in a time of technological transformations and new global challenges - from which Costa Rica is no exception – that this forum will elevate the conversation and chart the course for the future we wish to build, taking the industry to new frontiers of innovation and advancing the country's value proposition to greater specialization and strength.”The event will bring together multinational companies, strategic suppliers, consulting firms, and investors to address topics shaping the future of the sector: automation, artificial intelligence, big data,
R&D, new materials, healthcare regulation, strategic investment, and the changing global healthcare landscape, among others.
The first edition in 2013 of the Life Sciences Forum Costa Rica, the first of its kind in Latin America, set the regional standard for the sector. The Forum has grown in relevance and attendance with each edition, bringing together more than 1,400 leaders from the global and local
life sciences ecosystem in its four previous editions. It has featured world-class panelists and international experts who provide key perspectives on the future of the MedTech industry, with cutting-edge content and high-impact discussions.
The Life Sciences Forum returns with renewed strength and vision at a time when Costa Rica has solidified its position as the second-largest exporter of medical devices in Latin America, with more than US $8 billion in exports in 2024 and an average annual growth of 18% since 2017. In addition to being a showcase of knowledge, the forum is a true networking platform, connecting manufacturers, OEMs, researchers, and solution providers in an environment that fosters real business opportunities.
It also creates a unique convergence of innovation,
specialized human talent, and strategic capital, all in a single space designed to propel the future of the industry from Costa Rica.
