Databricks expands Global Operations in Costa Rica

Databricks, the lakehouse company, announced the expansion of its global operations, selecting Costa Rica as the location to grow. It will be actively looking for talent to fill at least 50 positions this year. As one of the fastest-growing regions in Latin America, Databricks sees a strong opportunity to bolster operations in
Costa Rica and plans to hire local talent in support of several teams including Finance, HR, IT, Technical Support, Marketing, Operations, and many other functions coming in the future.

Databricks has raised nearly $3.6 billion and was valued at $38 billion, after the company’s Series H funding in 2021, which included investments from cloud leaders and strategic partners Amazon Web Services (AWS), CapitalG, and Microsoft. Databricks was founded by the original creators of popular open-source software initiatives including Apache Spark™, Delta Lake, and MLflow.
