- Costa Rican company produces components for the Life Sciences industry
- Total expansion investment exceeds US$9 million.

August 3, 2020.
Electroplast, a Costa Rican company that designs medical device components, will expand its operations beginning in the second quarter of 2021. Currently, operations are based in Santo Domingo de Heredia; last week, the company confirmed its transfer to
La Ceiba Industrial Park, located in Orotina.
Electroplast will invest more than US$9 million in remodeling, expanding its industrial warehouse, and transferring its operations, which will soon occupy a space of 8,000 square meters (86,000 ft2).
With 35 years of experience in the market, the Costa Rican company provides high-quality parts to the health sciences industry, which represents the most dynamic sector of the national economy. "At Electroplast, we know that this effort reflects the promise we have made to our clients to pursue continuous improvements and, at the same time, it also allows us to offer new employment opportunities in the region," commented Diego Vicente, General Manager of Electroplast.
This important move was coordinated by the real estate services consulting firm, Cushman andamp; Wakefield | AB Advisory, through its Logistics and Industrial Services department. Bernal Rodríguez emphasized that these free trade properties represent transactions of thousands of square meters and are key to economic revitalization, as they generate employment, secure supply chains, and guarantee exports.
“In recent years, industrial parks have moved toward locations outside the GAM. This makes it possible for companies to take advantage of additional tax benefits offered by Costa Rica’s Free Trade Zone Law. Additionally, and in this specific case, La Ceiba Industrial Park is located on Route 27, less than one hour to Juan Santamaría International Airport,” explained Rodríguez.
The expansion will generate 150 opportunities for direct employment, for engineers, technicians, and floor operators. Although the hiring process will begin in 2021, interested parties may send their résumé and qualifications to the email
