            Johnson Controls Expands in Costa Rica with 150 Positions

 San José, Costa Rica. February 10th, 2020. Johnson Controls, a leading company in diversified and multi-industrial global technology, is expanding in Costa Rica and plans to hire 150 collaborators to create intelligent buildings, efficient energy solutions, and integrated infrastructure. 
 
 
 
 
 
  Johnson Controls serves clients in more than 150 countries. Currently, it has 350 employees in Costa Rica of a global payroll of 120,000. 
 
 
 
 
 
  Candidates must have a professional background in electrical, electromechanical, mechanical, mechatronic engineering, and software careers. Command of the English language, at the B2 level, is a top requirement. 
 
 
 
 
 
  Johnson Control’s Business Development Manager, Peter Fischel, explained: “The Costa Rican operations have been of the highest value to Johnson Controls. We want to keep investing in the country’s human talent. We’ve been in Costa Rica over the last 15 years due to the country’s development, human talent, and great opportunities for ongoing Foreign Direct Investment.” 
 
 
 
 
 
  The company invested US$4 million to expand its operations in 5,000m², in the Forum 1 Business Park, buildings J and K. 
 
 
 
 
 
  The Minister of Foreign Trade, Dyalá Jiménez, said: “Johnson Control’s announcement demonstrates that reinvestments are a power source of development and wellbeing. The country’s stability, human talent, and legal security are essential pieces of our value proposition. Last year, Costa Rica attracted 44 investment projects: 19 new investments and 25 reinvestments. We thank Johnson Controls' trust in Costa Rica.” 
 
 
 
 
 
  Johnson Controls not only provides consulting in electrical, mechanical, telecommunications, and sustainability design but also pre and post-sales services support. It combines engineering, design, and different services to company operations around the globe. 
 
 
 
 
 
  For his part, Jorge Sequeira, CINDE’s Managing Director, added: “Costa Rica leads Latin America’s export of value-added services such as information and communication technologies and business services. In 2018, exports of knowledge-intensive services valued $4,490 million, which represents 49.4% of the total services exported by the country.   Johnson Controls will participate in the 15th edition of the CINDE Job Fair, which will take place at the Costa Rica Convention Center from March 6th to 8th.
