Stratus Video announces arrival in Costa Rica



Costa Ricans will do video and real time interpretation for patients in the United States


Stratus Video offers telecommuting positions for Costa Ricans, using technology that the company provides.
By 2017 the company plans to have 250 employees in its payroll.


 San Jose, Costa Rica November 4th, 2015. Stratus Video, a US company in the services sector, announced today, together with the Ministry of Foreign Trade and the Costa Rican Investment Promotion Agency (CINDE), that they chose Costa Rica to start operations in January 2016 with a modern service of real-time and video interpretation. Stratus Video expects to start operations with 120 bilingual people working from home from anywhere in the country, projecting to end the year with about 200, and reaching 250 interpreters by 2017.

 From Costa Rica, Stratus Video will provide video interpretation services, a system arose due to the need to improve communication between cultures, specifically for the medical industry in the United States. It is based on a technology that connects doctors with patients who do not speak English, and through an interpreter via video, that communication need is solved. 


 According to the company, the telecommuting model under which they operate, will enable employment opportunities for people across the country for those who meet the technical requirements. 


 The Minister of Foreign Trade, Alexander Mora, commended the company for its decision.  The profile sought by the company is Spanish-English bilingual personnel, preferably with experience in interpretation and management of medical vocabulary in both languages.
